Supersonic: The Book

Supersonic: The Book

(What’s the story) Morning Glory is the second and most successful album released by Oasis. It features highlight songs of the Bands career including “Wonderwall” and “Don’t look back in anger”. With a different approach to their previous album Definitely Maybe, the emphasis is now placed on huge chorus’ and balladry styles. Oasis booked Monnow Valley Studio near Rockfield in late 1993 to record the album and worked with producer Dave Batchelor, whom band member Noel Gallagher knew from his days working as a roadie for the Inspiral Carpets though sessions were unsatisfactory and Batchelor was subsequently fired. The album went on to sell over 8 million copies worldwide and brought widespread critical acclaim, being one of the main musical forces to catapult the Brit pop scene in the 1990's, and has appeared in many publications' lists of the greatest albums of all time. To commemorate this classic album and the distinct photography of Michael Spencer, the book signing we all have been waiting for is finally happening...

An Introduction..

Michael Spencer Jones, born in 1961, is a British art photographer and music video director, best known for his work with The Verve and of course, Oasis. After gaining a distinction from Bournemouth & Poole College Art in the 1980's, his iconic imagery helped define the Brit pop era, with his image appearing on the front cover of Oasis album, Definitely Maybe in 1994. Noted for his experimental and surrealist approach to his work, two of his cover photographs (Definitely Maybe and This Is Music) featured in Q Magazine's "The Hundred Best Record Covers of All Time" list, being published in 2004.
